Not finished yet

That’s right. Just like the mural, I’m not finished yet. I may look like I have it all together or things may look like I know what I am doing, but that isn’t the case! God is continually shaping, molding, adding highlights and lowlights (and not just in my hair), refining the details and adding new ones. It’s funny, no matter how long I work on a painting, I never feel like I am finished… I always feel like I should tweak it a little more. Thankfully, when God’s work is done, it is perfect. And even in the ongoing details of life, it is still perfect. He has control over all of it… and we get to watch it unfold as his beautiful paint strokes make their impressions in our life stories.

Ephesians 2:10

Month at a Glance

Since my last update, I have celebrated birthdays (mine and many others… they like to celebrate here), been visited by my parents… and then my oldest daughter, Natalie, seen Ballet de Ballet Folklórico de México — at Palacio de Bellas Artes, helped Tina move, celebrated Mexican Independence, gotten acquainted with three new mid-term missionaries (one single college age: Emily, and a married couple closer to my age: Julian and Mallu… Canadians, no doubt… well, one is from Mexico and married a Canadian), visited the pyramids (again… and my phone was stolen there… I used it as my camera, so I am having to adjust!), have been teaching English classes, holding English conversation classes (for practicing English and sharing a cup of coffee… and maybe some cookies), working on ObreroFiel.com (and ObreroFiel.org)… oh yes… and painting. Sound a little busy? Feels a little busy. But it is a good busy, and I can see God’s hand at work in all of the activities going on and the relationships he is developing. Thank you for your prayers!

Coming Up

October 6th begins our next session of community center activities. Here is a lineup of what is going on so you can pray specifically about any area you feel led. I am directly involved in the paint classes and English, and will help with the others as needed. I  also hope to be painting another mural when this one is finished. We are looking for a location in a community called Las Palmas where we can begin another community center. We already have English classes going on there… please be praying for a location that will be visible to the community.

Monday: Paint classes

Tuesday: English Conversation classes, Exercise classes

Wednesday: English classes, Children’s Crafts, Country Line Dance classes, Guitar classes

Thursday: Women’s Crafts, Exercise classes, Baking classes (1st and 3rd of each month)
