Making Progress!

Normal?

It’s September, and I feel somewhat normal again after this crazy season in my life! I hope you are settled into your “back-to-school” schedules and feeling “normal” as well…whatever that means!

Joe’s the Man

Joe films missions videoJoe begins his endeavor at the Art Institute in Dallas at the end of this month. We will attend an orientation right before he begins, so I will report more about that when I have a better idea of what it looks like for him. I am excited to see where this takes him. He is really talented, and it will be fun to see him develop his skills in film and production. The photo is of him in action filming a missions promotion video for Country Bible Church.

And I can’t help but share some of the fun videos he has produced with his friends…just for fun (and experiment). Can you blame a mom for bragging? Check these out…

And you can view the CBC missions series here.

Upcoming

I have a few things coming up where I would appreciate your prayers. Next week is a busy one! On Sunday, the 22nd, I will be speaking at Faith Bible Church’s (in Desoto, TX) young adult class during their missions Sunday event. I hope to represent Camino Global well and generate interest in the ministry in Mexico as well as HOPE Coffee. Then, on Tuesday…I get to help Camino’s Short-term Coordinator and Campus Mobilizer, Karin Benningfield, present opportunities to students on the Dallas Baptist University campus. Very excited to visit my alma mater! And then….on Thursday I will be helping serve HOPE Coffee at the D6 Conference at Watermark Church. Anything for coffee, right? And last but not least, I get to help celebrate my Dad’s birthday on Saturday the 28th (his birthday is actually the 27th). So, you can see…I need prayer to make it through and that God might put people before me who want to partner in my ministry.

What’s the Progress?

Now, I have gotten to review my status as a Camino appointee to the mission field, and we have decided to change my commitment to a one year period. This will allow me to adjust the financial numbers and I will be closer to being able to actually be on the field. I believe this will be a good thing in the long run and will help accommodate some of the changes occurring with my team in Mexico. If you would like to read more about what is currently happening there, check out Rod’s blog here.

With this in mind, and to make a solid push to reach the financial goals of my ministry, I am asking for anyone who can give a one time gift or make a monthly pledge, to do so this month. Here is a link to make the pledge…just print it out and mail it in. Or, you can do it online here as well. Please shoot me an email when you have done it so I am aware of the gift. And… if you know of a church or group who would like to participate, please contact them with my information and let me know so I can follow up.

LSU beats TCU in Cowboy's StadiumOne last thing…

I got to attend the LSU/TCU football game in the Cowboy’s Stadium! This was my first time ever to be in the new stadium. It is pretty overwhelming…and very cool. Fun time… and crazy fans!

Be a part of the ministry!

You can pray, give a one-time monetary gift, and/or commit to monthly financial support. Your financial support will help insure the online ministry will continue.
